(Alice and Aimee, two playschool parents, have shared this. I thought I should pass it on.)
FROM ALICE KUO SHIPPEE: To all parent friends! WHAT WE DON’T KNOW CAN HURT US–AND OUR CHILDREN.
Dr. Jay Gordon is our pediatrician–an incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, insightful doctor who has a very balanced view regarding vaccines. Thought it would be good for everyone to know that his interview (as well as Dr. Sears’s) was NOT included (seemingly willfully omitted) in the PBS Frontline episode on vaccines. This is his response to the exclusion of his information. I think it’s important to note that anytime information is withheld from parents, it makes it more difficult for us to make intelligent decisions about our children’s health. Short of believing in a conspiracy, I do believe that we are often only privy to information that random people choose to allow us know, in this case, just the producers of one show (one influential show). Think about how long it took to “prove” that smoking was unhealthful…I just worry what will be revealed in the next 10-20 years about vaccines…
