REDONDO BEACH’S RIVIERA PLAYSCHOOL ESTABLISHES AN ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Riviera PlaySchool is announced as a Sky Mountain approved vendor, serving the growing Home-school community in the South Bay

(Redondo Beach, CA) – Linda Shannon, Director and Founder of Riviera PlaySchool in Redondo Beach, is pleased to announce that Riviera PlaySchool has become an approved vendor for Sky Mountain Charter School. The new L.A.B. program at Riviera PlaySchool offers classes on a wide variety of subjects in a fun, exciting and enriching atmosphere that promotes collaborative learning among students. Riviera PlaySchool is delighted to add Sky Mountain Charter School to its growing list of educational partnerships, which currently also include UCLA Extension and El Camino College. Riviera PlaySchool is a place where social, emotional, intellectual, and creative growth thrives. LAB classes are designed for children grades K & Up.

Sky Mountain Charter School (SMCS) is a WASC accredited charter school managed by Innovative Education Management (IEM). The school is part of the IEM family of parent choice charter schools that thousands of families have chosen for their children in grades K through 12 since 1993. IEM-managed charter schools have graduated over 13,000 students. SMCS was approved as an independent study charter by the California Department of Education in 2007. The school serves students in San Bernardino, Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside Counties.

Riviera PlaySchool, offers a humanistic, constructivist, and mindful Academic Enrichment program for the “whole child,” inspired by the best of Attachment Parenting, Bev Bos, Montessori, Waldorf, and Non-Violent Communication (NVC). Serving both, home school and public school community members, Riviera PlaySchool L.A.B. classes are a wonderful resource for families looking for academic alternatives and enrichment for their elementary-aged children.

The classes instruct children in the core California standards with a project-based, academic rich, “learn by doing” approach that addresses a multitude of learning styles simultaneously, and nurtures independent, critical thinking skills.
